Each year our club is the proud sponsor of two hamfests, one in June, the other in October. Our next hamfests will be held on Sunday, June 13th, 2010 and October 3rd, 2010-- rain or shine -- in the parking lot behind the New York Hall of Science. Admission is only $5* and vendor space is only $10.
We're pleased to offer a DROP'n'SHOP service to all attendees. If you have a few items that you'd like to sell but don't want to miss out on the rest of the hamfest by buying a vendor space, just leave it at the DROP'n'SHOP table by the main entrance. This table will be staffed at all times by club personnel and we'll be glad to sell your items on your behalf for a fixed price. If your items sell, we charge a small 10% commission. If it does not sell, there is no charge.
DROP'n'SHOP is restricted to to amateur radio hardware, and not old "boat-anchors," computers, software, arts-and-crafts, etc. DROP'n'SHOP items must be clean and in decent sellable condition. Will will NOT accept any equipment that is illegal to sell or use in the United States.
VE EXAM SESSIONS
VE sessions are held at each HoSARC Hamfest. No pre-registration is required; walk-ins are gladly accepted. Our first exams begin at 10 AM, but we can accommodate late-comers up until about 11 or so. Please have $15 exact change (or a cheque) to cover the exam fee, and if you're licensed already, please bring your original license as well as a photocopy of same as well as any CSCE documents, as applicable. We don't have access to photocopying services! As a bonus, if you're not a member of our club and you pass any element of the exam, the Hall of Science Amateur Radio Club will be pleased to extend membership to you for the balance of the calendar year.
